On marko you pay digitally and securely. We support most credit and debit cards, including Mastercard and Visa, as well as ApplePay, GooglePay and SamsungPay. You can set up and manage your payment methods by clicking on your profile picture and following settings > payment.


When will my money be deducted?

No money will be deducted before you receive the purchased item. However, as soon as you click purchase securely, the total transaction amount will be reserved on your selected payment method. If you manually accept the item or don’t initiate a return within 2 days after receipt, the reservation will be captured - in other words, the total transaction amount will be deducted from your selected payment method. If after 7 days the transaction is not yet completed, it might be necessary that the reservation is captured, but don’t worry: if the purchased item never arrives or you choose to return it, you will still be refunded. If you chose the pick-up option, the payment will automatically be triggered after 14 days if you don't request a return or manually close the transaction.


Why am I being charged more than the item price?

The total transaction amount includes the price of the sale item, the buyer protection fee and in some cases, the costs of shipping the item to you. Shipping costs are set by the seller, and we charge a buyer protection fee of 5% (minimum of CHF 0.50) of the item's sale price on every sale to help secure your transaction. Is my payment safe?

Yes, your payment is safe. The seller will only receive your money if you are happy with the purchased item. Together with our payment partner Stripe, we secure the transaction and your money from when you purchase the item, until you receive it and are happy with it.


How do refunds work?

If the seller does not ship the purchased item or you do not like it, you will get your money back.

  1. If the seller doesn’t confirm the shipment of the item within 7 days, we’ll automatically cancel the purchase and the reservation on your selected payment method. You keep all your money.

  2. If the item doesn’t meet your expectations, you can initiate a return within two days of receipt or at the pickup appointment. Once the item is back with its seller, we’ll refund you the purchase price. However, the buyer protection fee as well as any applicable shipping costs are non-refundable.
